Time: May 27, Wednesday, 13:00
Location: M101

At this event, Elvar Örn Jónsson from HÍ will tell us about the Icelandic Research e-Infratructure (IREI) project that RU is a partner to. Everyone is welcome! The event will be of particular interest to those who have intensive computing or data storage needs, beyond what our local infrastructure at RU can easily support.

We are also launching a Scientific Computing User Group at Reykjavik University. The goal is to connect people who make use of HPC or scientific computing, share expertise and experiences, and support each others’ work. Join us on Wednesday if you are interested.

Abstract: The Icelandic Research E-Infrastucture (IREI) project, hosted at the Division of Information Technology University of Iceland, provides general IT resources to publicly funded research in Iceland. IREI provides access to powerful high-performance computing (HPC) clusters, secure data storage and sharing-platform solutions, and installation and implementation of scientific software and virtual environments. IREI partners include UI, RU, Veðurstofan, Landspítali, as well as several others. This talk will introduce available IREI resources, and means to access them, to the faculty and staff of RU.
